The New Music for Strings 2018 Festival is proud to announce its third season, this year hosted by its Nordic partners, Royal Academy of Music Aarhus (Denmark) and the Iceland Arts Academy. 

The 2018 Festival will highlight two intimately intertwined themes: “Music inspired by folk music” and “Conversations with J.S.”  From August 11 to 24, our internationally renowned faculty and performers will present eleven inspired concerts in three cities: Aarhus, Copenhagen, and Reykjavik.  In honor of this year’s themes, performers and patrons will get in touch with both their folk roots and baroque classical heritage in an exploration of contemporary classical music’s interaction with age-old musical traditions.
